Brian Carey is the latest honorary life member of the NZGA. This was awarded at the NZ Geothermal Workshop dinner held in the Contact Energy steam field.

Brian has served on the board of NZGA in 1997-1998, and again in 2009- 2015. He was Vice President in 2010 – 2011, and became President for the 2014-2015 period when NZ co-hosted with its Australian counterparts the World Geothermal Congress, held in Melbourne, during which Brian did an excellent job of ensuring the New Zealand geothermal industry put on a great show of strength for our international visitors
