NZ Geothermal Week 2025 was held in Taupō from 28th July - 2nd August, with the theme "Geothermal: New Zealand's Global Opportunity". Three key documents were launched during the week's events:
From the Ground Up: A draft strategy to unlock New Zealand’s geothermal potential
This draft strategy documents the New Zealand Government's intention to double Aotearoa's geothermal use by 2040. There is now a consultation period open until 12th September, 5pm. Read the draft strategy and have your say here.

A collaboration between New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) and the NZGA, this directory provides a comprehensive introduction to the key players in Aotearoa's geothermal industry. You can download the directory here.
Geoheat business guide in Aotearoa New Zealand
The geoheat business guide is an informative document covering the considerations and applications of switching to geothermal heat, or geoheat. The guide was a joint project between the NZGA and the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA), with the purpose of encouraging and assisting process heat users towards implementing geoheat.
